Amino Acid Sequence of Recombinant Protein:

Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human BD-4. Anti-Human BD-4-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
For detection of hBD-4 by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well antibody solution), use at 0.25–1.0 µg/mL. In conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human BD-4 (500-P268) as capture antibody, allows detection of 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant hBD-4.

Western Blot:
For detection of hBD-4 by Western blot, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. With compatible secondary reagents, detection limit for Recombinant hBD-4 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Defensins are antimicrobial and cytotoxic peptides produced by neutrophils. They are short, processed peptides classified into three groups by structure: alpha-, beta-, and theta-defensins.
Beta-defensin genes are clustered in four to five syntenic chromosomal regions. Chromosome 8p23 contains at least two copies of the duplicated beta-defensin cluster, resulting in two identical copies of defensin beta 104: DEFB104A and DEFB104B, arranged head-to-head.
This gene, DEFB104A, represents the more centromeric copy.
