Target Information
Tetranectin (TN) is a serum and tissue C-type lectin that binds to Ca++. It forms a homotrimer of monomers (20 kDa each) and is present in plasma or serum at approximately 10 mg/L. In vitro, TN binds to kringle 4 of plasminogen and enhances its activation to plasmin, catalyzed by tissue plasminogen activator in the presence of poly-D-lysine. TN is known as a prognostic marker in ovarian cancer.
