Target Information

Palladin is a cytoskeletal protein required for organization of the normal actin cytoskeleton. It plays key roles in establishing cell morphology, motility, adhesion, and interactions with the extracellular matrix across various cell types. Palladin may act as a scaffolding molecule influencing actin polymerization and the assembly of actin filaments into higher-order structures. It binds to proteins that interact with monomeric or filamentous actin and localizes at sites of active actin remodeling, such as lamellipodia and membrane ruffles. Different isoforms of Palladin may have distinct functional roles. It is also implicated in morphological and cytoskeletal changes during dendritic cell maturation.
