Product Specific Information
Goats were immunized with 6-His (HHHHHH) conjugated to KLH. Antibody was isolated by affinity chromatography using the peptide immobilized on solid support.
This antibody does not detect all N-terminal 6-His tagged proteins.
Target Information
The 6x His tag is a synthetic oligopeptide consisting of six consecutive histidine residues (HHHHHH).
His tags are commonly expressed at either the N- or C-terminal regions of recombinant proteins to enable isolation or purification via immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC).
Epitope tagging allows detection of proteins lacking specific antibodies by fusing a known epitope sequence.
His-tagged proteins can be purified efficiently using Ni²⁺-NTA columns due to the strong and selective binding affinity between histidine residues and nickel ions.
His tag-specific antibodies are widely used for detection or co-immunoprecipitation of tagged recombinant proteins.
