Product Specific Information

MA1-40200 detects FHL2 from human, mouse, and rat samples.
It has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry (frozen), immunohistochemistry (paraffin), Western blot, and immunofluorescence applications.
The immunogen is human FHL2.
MA1-40200 recognizes the N-terminal Zn-Finger motif and does not cross-react in Western blotting with FHL1 and FHL3 proteins.
This antibody is cross-reactive with mouse and rat FHL2.

Target Information

The FHL2 gene encodes a member of the four-and-a-half-LIM-only protein family.
These proteins contain two highly conserved, tandemly arranged zinc finger domains with four conserved cysteines binding a zinc atom in each finger.
FHL2 is thought to play a role in extracellular membrane assembly.
This gene is down-regulated during transformation of normal myoblasts to rhabdomyosarcoma cells and may act as a link between presenilin-2 and intracellular signaling pathways.
Multiple alternatively spliced variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
