Target Information
Tyrosine Kinase 2 (TYK2), a member of the JAK kinase family, plays both structural and catalytic roles in type I interferon (IFN) signaling, and may be involved in antiviral immunity.
A mutation in this gene has been associated with hyperimmunoglobulin E syndrome (HIES), a primary immunodeficiency characterized by elevated serum immunoglobulin E.
