Target Information
This gene belongs to the dihydroxyacetone kinase family, which have a distinct protein structure from other kinases. The gene product phosphorylates dihydroxyacetone and catalyzes the formation of riboflavin 4’,5’-phosphate (cyclin FMN) from FAD. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified, but only one full-length transcript has been determined.
