Target Information
The RAP1A gene encodes a member of the RAS-related protein family, sharing ~50% amino acid identity with classical RAS proteins. RAP proteins differ at the 61st amino acid (threonine replaces glutamine in RAS). RAP1A counteracts the mitogenic function of RAS by competitively interacting with RAS GAPs and RAF. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
