The OXITEST reactor accelerates the lipid oxidation process—normally lasting weeks or months—providing fast, accurate, and reliable results for Food & Feed, Cosmetic, Pharma, and Petrochemical industries.

Representative Results Testing the Whole Sample

The OXITEST reactor subjects the sample to high oxidative stress to evaluate, in a short period, its resistance to fat oxidation:

• Over-pressure of pure oxygen (6 bar, degree 5.0)
• Constant temperature at 90 °C

The OXITEST method allows direct testing of solid, liquid, or doughy samples without extensive preparation, ensuring representative results. Other matrix components like oxidants or transition metals may influence oxidation, making extracted matter less predictive.

The Induction Period (IP)

Results are expressed as the Induction Period (IP)—the time required to reach the onset of oxidation, corresponding to detectable rancidity or a sudden change in oxidation rate.
A longer IP indicates greater stability against oxidation over time.

The OXITEST is fully controlled via PC using OXISoft™ software, capable of managing up to four OXITEST units simultaneously and independently.
