Target Information
Lyn proto oncogene (Lcl/Yes related novel protein tyrosine kinase) is encoded by the Lyn gene located on chromosome 8 in humans and belongs to the Src family kinase. It is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase that acts as a mediator in transducing cellular signaling.
Lyn is expressed mainly in hematopoietic cell types (lymphoid and myeloid cells), excluding T lymphocytes. It plays diverse roles in:
- Regulation of B cell receptor signaling
- Mast cell signaling
- Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition (EMT)
