Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The protein encoded by the MKS1 gene localizes to the basal body and is required for formation of the primary cilium in ciliated epithelial cells. Mutations in this gene are associated with Meckel syndrome type 1 and Bardet-Biedl syndrome type 13. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
