Target Information
Rb (Retinoblastoma protein) is a tumor suppressor nuclear phosphoprotein capable of binding to DNA. It is phosphorylated on serine and threonine residues and forms complexes with SV40 large T antigen, adenovirus E1A, and human papillomavirus-16 E. Rb protein regulates transcription, and its functional loss leads to uncontrolled cell proliferation. Mutations or aberrations in the RB gene are associated with cancers such as breast, colon, prostate, kidney, nasopharyngeal, and leukemia.
