Target Information

Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases with diverse physiological roles. Many kallikreins are implicated in carcinogenesis and may serve as potential biomarkers for cancer and other diseases.
This gene is part of a kallikrein subfamily cluster on chromosome 19 and may be involved in proteolytic cascades in the skin as well as serve as a biomarker for ovarian cancer.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
