LMO2는 두 개의 LIM 도메인을 가진 시스테인 풍부 단백질을 암호화하며, 난황낭 적혈구 생성에 필수적입니다.
이 단백질은 조혈 발달에 중심적 역할을 하며 고도로 보존되어 있습니다.
LMO2 전사 시작 부위는 11p13 T-cell translocation cluster(11p13 ttc)로부터 약 25 kb 하류에 위치하며,
이 부위는 T-cell 급성 림프구성 백혈병 관련 전좌가 자주 발생하는 영역입니다.
대체 스플라이싱을 통해 다양한 isoform을 생성합니다.
