Guanine nucleotide-releasing factors (GRFs) increase GDP dissociation, while GDP-dissociation inhibitors (GDIs) decrease it.
The Rho GDI subfamily includes Rho GDIα, Ly-GDI (Rho GDIβ, previously GDI/D4), and Rho GDIγ.
These proteins interact with several Ras-like GTP-binding proteins such as Rho A, Rho B, Rac, and Cdc42.
Ly-GDI is expressed primarily in hematopoietic cells, especially B and T lymphocyte lines.
