Target Information

SNX6 interacts with members of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) family of receptor serine-threonine kinases. These receptors include:

• Type II receptors: Bind ligand and recruit type I receptors for signal transduction. SNX6 interacts strongly with ActRIIB and moderately with wild type and kinase-defective mutants of TbetaRII.
• Type I receptors: SNX6 interacts only with inactivated TbetaRI.

SNXs 1–4 also interact with TGF-β receptor family, showing distinct receptor preferences. SNX6 behaves similarly to other SNX proteins in its interactions with receptor tyrosine kinases and forms heteromeric complexes with SNX1, SNX2, SNX4, and SNX6, suggesting oligomeric complex formation in vivo.
