• Store Anti-IL-2 antibody at 4°C prior to restoration.
• For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below.
• Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing.
• Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
• Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
• Dilute only prior to immediate use.
• This purified antibody has been heated to 56°C for 30 minutes.
• In ELISA and other immunoassays, this antibody recognizes both native and recombinant human IL-2 in cell supernatants and certain body fluids.
• A control of similarly diluted normal rabbit IgG is recommended.

Interleukin 2 (IL-2) is an immuno-modulatory cytokine important for the proliferation of activated T cells, differentiation of B cells, and activation of natural killer cells, monocytes, and macrophages.
IL-2 signals through the IL-2 receptor (IL-2R), a heterotrimeric protein complex whose gamma chain is shared by IL-4 and IL-7.
The expression of the IL-2 gene in mature thymocytes is monoallelic, representing a unique regulatory mechanism for precise gene expression.
Disruption of an IL-2-like gene in mice results in an ulcerative colitis-like disease, highlighting its essential role in immune response regulation.
