Product Specific Information

This antibody is predicted to react with Monkey, Bovine, Rat, and Cat.

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:

  • Enhanced specificity and sensitivity
  • Lot-to-lot consistency
  • Animal origin-free formulation
  • Broader immunoreactivity due to the rabbit immune repertoire

Target Information

NOTCH3 is the third identified human homologue of the Drosophila melanogaster type I membrane protein notch. In Drosophila, notch interactions with cell-bound ligands (delta, serrate) form an intercellular signaling pathway critical for neural development.
Human homologues of these ligands have also been identified. NOTCH3 functions as a receptor for membrane-bound ligands Jagged1, Jagged2, and Delta1 to regulate cell-fate determination.
Mutations in NOTCH3 are known to cause cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy (CADASIL).
