Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Mox1 and the glycoprotein gp91-phox are related proteins that form essential components of the NADPH oxidase complex. This superoxide-generating complex is expressed in phagocytes, neuroepithelial bodies, vascular smooth muscle cells, and endothelial cells. It includes a membrane-bound flavocytochrome with two subunits (gp91-phox and p22-phox) and cytosolic proteins (p47-phox and p67-phox). The p22- and gp91-phox subunits also act as surface O₂ sensors that initiate cellular signaling under hypoxic conditions.
Mox1 and gp91 share identical C-terminal sequences but differ in expression patterns: gp91-phox is expressed in eosinophils, neutrophils, monocytes, and B-lymphocytes, while Mox1 is mainly detected in the colon, with lower expression in the uterus and prostate.
