Product Specific Information
- Reconstitute with 1 mL of distilled water.
- After reconstitution, store product undiluted at 4ºC in the dark.
- For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10^6 cells in 100 µL.
Target Information
CD33 is a transmembrane protein belonging to the sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin (Siglec) family. It contains immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs) that recruit SHP-1 and SHP-2 for signaling and receptor regulation.
CD33 is expressed on myelomonocytic lineage cells and binds sialic acid residues on N- and O-glycans. It is an important therapeutic target for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and serves as a marker for distinguishing myelogenous leukemia cells from lymphoid or erythroid leukemias.
CD33 is present on granulocyte and macrophage precursors in bone marrow, but not on pluripotent stem cells. It is also expressed on peripheral monocytes.
Diseases associated with CD33 dysfunction include gallbladder lymphoma and extracutaneous mastocytoma.
