Target Information
FOXO1, FOXO3, and FOXO4 belong to the forkhead family of transcription factors.
- FOXO1 (FKHR): 70 kDa protein acting as coactivator or corepressor of nuclear receptor activity via the LXXLL motif in its C terminus.
- FOXO3: Functions as a trigger for apoptosis through expression of cell death-related genes. Translocation with MLL gene is associated with secondary acute leukemia.
- FOXO4: Involved in insulin signaling regulation; binds to insulin-response elements (IREs) and activates transcription of IGFBP1. Down-regulates HIF1A expression and suppresses hypoxia-induced transcriptional activation.
