Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by epitope-specific affinity chromatography. Purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Nucleocytoplasmic transport is a signal- and energy-dependent process through nuclear pore complexes. Proteins with nuclear localization signals (NLS) are imported by a heterodimer of importin alpha and beta (karyopherins). Importin alpha binds NLS-containing cargo, while importin beta mediates docking and translocation through the pore complex. The IPO5 protein is a member of the importin beta family and plays a key role in nuclear import mechanisms.
