Target Information
Claudin-18은 폐와 위 특이적 아이소폼으로 발현되는 타이트 정션 단백질입니다. 이는 claudin-18 유전자의 대체 스플라이싱에 의해 생성됩니다. 폐 특이적 형태는 T/EBP/NKX2.1 전사인자에 의해 조절되는 하위 표적 유전자입니다. 마우스에서 C-말단 세포질 도메인이 결여된 스플라이스 변이체가 보고되었으나, 인간에서는 확인되지 않았습니다. 인간 Claudin-18은 마우스 단백질과 88%의 아미노산 서열 동일성을 보입니다. 면역조직화학 연구에서 폐 및 위 상피세포의 세포막에 완전하게 국소화되어 있으며, 전자현미경 연구에서는 세포 간 경계에 집중되어 있음이 확인되었습니다. 이러한 특성은 Claudin-18이 폐 및 위의 타이트 정션 구조와 기능에 중요한 역할을 할 가능성을 시사합니다. 또한 내이에서도 Claudin-18의 발현이 보고되었습니다.
