Product Specific Information

• Reconstitution: Add 50 µL double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
• The antibody is shipped as a lyophilized powder at room temperature.
• Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
• Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week.
• For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
• Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

TRPV1 (Transient Receptor Potential Cation Channel Subfamily V Member 1) is a receptor for capsaicin, the main pungent ingredient in hot chili peppers, and elicits a sensation of burning pain by selectively activating sensory neurons.
TRPV1 is a non-selective cation channel related to the TRP family (e.g., TRPC3, TRPC6), permeable to calcium, magnesium, sodium, and potassium.
It contains six transmembrane domains, a P-loop membrane domain, and three ankyrin repeat domains.
TRPV1 is activated by noxious heat and may function as a transducer of painful thermal stimuli. It mediates proton influx and may be involved in intracellular acidosis in nociceptive neurons.
Expression is mainly limited to neurons within sensory ganglia. Four transcript variants have been described.
Diseases associated with TRPV1 include Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and Bladder Disease.
