EXOSC7는 RNA exosome 복합체의 비촉매 구성 요소로, 3′→5′ exoribonuclease 활성에 관여하며 다양한 RNA 처리 및 분해 과정에 참여합니다.
핵 내에서 rRNA, snRNA, snoRNA 등 안정적인 RNA의 성숙과 비암호화 RNA 제거에 관여하며, 비정상적인 mRNA의 세포질 수출을 제한합니다.
또한 Ig class switch recombination(CSR) 및 somatic hypermutation(SHM) 과정에서 AICDA의 탈아민화 활성 조절에 관여할 수 있습니다.
세포질에서는 AU-rich element(ARE)를 포함한 불안정한 mRNA의 분해 및 RNA 감시 경로에 관여합니다.
Exo-9 코어 복합체는 RNA 결합 및 리보뉴클레이스 활성화의 중심 역할을 수행하며, 촉매 서브유닛 및 보조 단백질 복합체의 결합을 위한 스캐폴드 역할을 합니다.
