Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The androgen receptor (AR) is a member of the steroid-hormone receptor superfamily of nuclear receptors.
It has three major functional domains: the N-terminal domain, DNA-binding domain, and androgen-binding domain.
AR acts as a ligand-activated transcription factor binding testosterone (T) and dihydrotestosterone (DHT).
Upon ligand binding, AR translocates into the nucleus, dimerizes, and activates transcription of androgen-responsive genes.

The AR signaling pathway is crucial for development and function of male reproductive organs (prostate, epididymis) and also affects nonreproductive tissues (muscle, hair follicles, brain).
AR is a phosphoprotein regulating MAP kinase signaling, and its phosphorylation state is linked to MEK1/2 pathway activity.
Abnormal AR signaling is associated with diseases such as prostate cancer, Kennedy’s disease, and male infertility.
Mutations in AR can cause complete androgen insensitivity (CAIS).
