The Human HGFR (c-Met) Simplex ProcartaPlex Kit measures HGFR (c-Met) protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits, allowing creation of custom multiplex panels utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation.

When combining multiple Simplex kits (e.g., when not using a pre-configured multiplex panel), only one buffer kit (Cat. No. EPX010-10420-901) is required per assay plate, regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on the sandwich ELISA principle, using two highly specific antibodies binding to different epitopes of one protein to quantitate all protein targets simultaneously using a Luminex instrument.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single 25–50 μL sample from plasma, serum, cell culture supernatants, and other bodily fluids.

The Luminex MagPlex superparamagnetic microsphere beads are internally dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores to create 100 spectrally unique bead signatures identifiable by Luminex detection systems (Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX).

Similar to a sandwich ELISA, the ProcartaPlex assay uses matched antibody pairs to identify target proteins. Each spectrally unique bead is labeled with antibodies specific to a single target protein, and bound proteins are detected with biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).

Unlike traditional ELISA, the capture antibody in the ProcartaPlex assay is conjugated to a magnetic bead and not adsorbed to the microplate well, allowing reagents to remain free-floating in solution. Detection is performed by Luminex instruments using dual lasers—one to distinguish bead signatures and another to quantify RPE fluorescence, which correlates with protein concentration.

ProcartaPlex multiplex assays can profile more targets using significantly less sample in the same time as a traditional ELISA.

ProcartaPlex multiplex panels are available across six species (human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, and canine).
