Target Information
CCKBR is a G-protein coupled receptor for gastrin and cholecystokinin (CCK), regulatory peptides of the brain and gastrointestinal tract. This receptor (type B gastrin receptor) has high affinity for both sulfated and nonsulfated CCK analogs and is predominantly expressed in the central nervous system and gastrointestinal tract. A misspliced transcript variant including an intron has been observed in colorectal and pancreatic tumor cells. Expression has been reported in brain, colon, pancreas, stomach, thyroid, and various cancers.
