Target Information
TET2는 5-메틸시토신(5mC)을 5-하이드록시메틸시토신(5hmC)으로 변환하는 dioxygenase로, DNA 탈메틸화 과정의 핵심 효소입니다.
5hmC를 5-포밀시토신(5fC) 및 5-카복실시토신(5caC)으로 전환하여 시토신 탈메틸화의 첫 단계를 수행합니다.
또한 TET2는 O-GlcNAc transferase (OGT)를 CpG-rich 전사 시작 부위로 유도하여 히스톤 H2B GlcNAcylation을 촉진합니다.
TET2 유전자 변이는 진성적혈구증가증(Polycythemia vera) 및 골수이형성증후군(Myelodysplastic syndrome)과 관련이 있습니다.
