Reconstitute with 0.1 mL of distilled water. For long-term storage, the addition of 0.09% sodium azide is recommended (unless used for functional studies).
Prior to reconstitution, store at 4°C. After reconstitution, store undiluted at -20°C, avoiding freeze/thaw cycles.

Rabbit anti-Mouse MIP-1 alpha antibody recognizes mouse Macrophage Inflammatory Protein-1 alpha (MIP-1 alpha), also known as CCL3.
MIP-1 alpha plays an important role in the inflammatory response of blood monocytes and tissue macrophages.

Target Information

Both MIP-1α and MIP-1β are structurally and functionally related CC chemokines. They participate in host response to invading bacterial, viral, parasite, and fungal pathogens by regulating the trafficking and activation state of selected subgroups of inflammatory cells (e.g., macrophages, lymphocytes, and NK cells).

While both MIP-1α and MIP-1β exert similar effects on monocytes, their effect on lymphocytes differ:

• MIP-1α selectively attracts CD8+ lymphocytes
• MIP-1β selectively attracts CD4+ lymphocytes

Additionally, MIP-1α and MIP-1β are potent chemoattractants for B cells, eosinophils, and dendritic cells.
Both human and murine MIP-1α and MIP-1β are active on human and murine hematopoietic cells.
