Product Specific Information
PA1-843 detects silencing mediator of retinoic acid and thyroid hormone receptor (SMRT) from human and mouse cells.
This antibody has been successfully used in Western blot, ICC/IF, and immunohistochemistry (paraffin) applications.
By Western blot, it detects an approximately 250 kDa protein representing SMRT from HeLa cell nuclear extracts.
The PA1-843 antigen is a His-tagged fusion protein corresponding to amino acid residues 95–565 from human SMRT.
Target Information
Steroid and thyroid hormones, as well as retinoic acid, regulate gene expression through intracellular receptor transcription factors belonging to the ligand-dependent nuclear receptor superfamily.
Coactivators and corepressors modulate transcriptional activity of these receptors.
Silencing mediator of retinoic acid and thyroid hormone receptor (SMRT) and nuclear receptor corepressor (N-CoR) are related transcriptional corepressors containing domains that interact with unliganded nuclear receptors to repress their basal transcriptional activity.
