Description:
The eBioRCR-16 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Endothelial Protein C Receptor (EPCR, CD201), a 25 kDa type I transmembrane protein expressed on endothelial cells. EPCR shares structural homology with the MHC class I/CD1 family and serves as a ligand for Protein C, playing a key role in enhancing Protein C activation and regulating blood coagulation and inflammation. EPCR deletion leads to embryonic lethality, partly due to placental thrombosis.

EPCR expression marks bone marrow cells capable of hematopoietic reconstitution comparable to hematopoietic stem cells. The eBio1560 antibody can detect these stem cells, while eBiomRCR-16 is recommended for detecting CD201 specifically on endothelial cells.

Applications Reported:
This antibody is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis and functional assays.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of the bEnd.3 cell line. Recommended ≤ 0.25 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Optimal concentration should be titrated empirically depending on assay and cell number (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Use in a sterile environment.

Target Information

The encoded protein is a receptor for activated protein C, a serine protease involved in the blood coagulation pathway. This N-glycosylated type I membrane protein enhances protein C activation. Mutations are linked to venous thromboembolism, myocardial infarction, and late fetal loss during pregnancy.
