Target Information
Myeloperoxidase (MPO)는 골수계 분화 과정에서 합성되는 헴 단백질로, 호중구의 아주로필 과립의 주요 구성 요소입니다.
전구체 단일 사슬로 생성되어 경쇄(light chain)와 중쇄(heavy chain)로 절단되며, 성숙된 MPO는 2개의 경쇄와 2개의 중쇄로 구성된 사량체입니다.
이 효소는 호중구의 미생물 살해 활성에 필수적인 hypohalous acid를 생성합니다.
MPO 관련 질환으로는 Myeloperoxidase 결핍증 및 가족성 알츠하이머병 1형이 있습니다.
