Product Specific Information
The MBM7C7 monoclonal antibody reacts with human and mouse BATF (B cell activating transcription factor). BATF is a 14 kDa member of the AP-1 family of transcription factors involved in repression of other AP-1 family members. BATF is upregulated in activated T cells compared to naive T and B cells and is critical for Th17 differentiation but not Th1 or Th2. In Th17 cells, BATF interacts with promoters of IL17, IL17F, IL21, and IL22. It is also implicated in CD8 T cell exhaustion during HIV infection.
Applications Reported: Intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for intracellular staining and flow cytometry using the Foxp3/Transcription Factor Buffer Set (Product #00-5523-00).
Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number may range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test.
Fluorophore Information:
PerCP-eFluor® 710 emits at 710 nm and is excited at 488 nm (blue laser). Recommended filter: 710/50 bandpass (695/40 acceptable alternative). Ensure instrument compatibility.
Fixation:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-822-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-54) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.

Target Information
BATF is a nuclear basic leucine zipper protein belonging to the AP-1/ATF superfamily of transcription factors. It dimerizes with Jun family proteins and acts as a negative regulator of AP-1/ATF transcriptional events, blocking Ras and Fos-mediated transformation. BATF is essential for IL-17-producing T helper (Th17) cell differentiation and regulates class-switch recombination in T and B cells.
