Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Ep-CAM (Epithelial Cell Adhesion Molecule, ESA) is a transmembrane glycoprotein (~40 kDa) expressed in epithelial tissues. It mediates calcium-independent homotypic cell adhesion and influences cell cycle, proliferation, and metabolism through induction of proto-oncogene c-myc and cell cycle regulators cyclin A and E.
Ep-CAM expression is associated with epithelial proliferation and is highly expressed in human carcinomas, serving as a marker for epithelial lineage tumors. It is found on the basolateral surface of most simple epithelia and various carcinoma types, and can distinguish adenocarcinomas from pleural mesotheliomas.
