Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).


Target Information

Cas9 is an RNA-guided DNA endonuclease enzyme associated with the CRISPR (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats) adaptive immunity system in bacteria and genetic engineering.
This system utilizes RNA to direct the nuclease to specific DNA sequences, enabling:

  • Indel mutations
  • Specific sequence replacements or insertions
  • Large deletions or genomic rearrangements

Cas9 can also mediate gene upregulation or epigenetic modifications (histone or DNA methylation).
Variants include SpCas9 (Streptococcus pyogenes) and SaCas9 (Staphylococcus aureus), with SaCas9 offering advantages such as smaller size, high efficiency, nickase activity, and specificity.
SaCas9 recognizes NNGRRT PAM sequences and cleaves DNA at rates comparable to SpCas9, making it suitable for compact delivery systems using AAV vectors.
