Target Information
BRCA1 (breast and ovarian cancer susceptibility protein 1)은 핵 내 인산화 단백질로, 유전체 안정성을 유지하고 종양 억제 기능을 수행합니다. 다른 종양 억제 인자, DNA 손상 감지 인자, 신호 전달 인자들과 함께 BASC(BRCA1 associated genome surveillance complex)를 형성합니다. BRCA1은 RNA polymerase II 및 histone deacetylase complex와 결합하여 전사, 이중 가닥 DNA 손상 복구, 재조합에 관여합니다. BRCA1 유전자 변이는 유전성 유방암의 약 40%, 유전성 유방 및 난소암의 80% 이상을 유발합니다. 대체 스플라이싱은 세포 내 위치 및 생리 기능 조절에 영향을 미치며, 다양한 변이형이 보고되었습니다. 또한 염색체 17에 관련된 유사 유전자가 존재합니다.
