Target Information

Gene / Protein: RHEB (Ras homolog enriched in brain)
Rheb encodes a member of the small GTPase superfamily and is a lipid-anchored, cell membrane protein containing five repeats of the RAS-related GTP-binding region. It plays a critical role in regulating growth and cell cycle progression via the insulin/TOR/S6K signaling pathway. The protein exhibits GTPase activity, cycling between GDP- and GTP-bound forms, and requires farnesylation for proper function. Three pseudogenes have been mapped: two on chromosome 10 and one on chromosome 22.
