Target Information
Tetranectin (TN) is a serum and tissue protein classified as a C-type lectin that binds calcium ions. It forms a homotrimer, with each monomer having a mass of approximately 20 kDa. Plasma or serum concentrations of TN are around 10 mg/L. In vitro, TN binds to kringle 4 of plasminogen and enhances its activation to plasmin, catalyzed by tissue plasminogen activator in the presence of poly-D-lysine. TN is recognized as a prognostic marker in ovarian cancer.
