For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The progesterone receptor (PR) belongs to the steroid family of nuclear receptors and mediates physiological effects of progesterone, a key hormone in reproductive processes including pregnancy establishment and maintenance.
PR exists as two isoforms:

• Form A (94 kDa)
• Form B (120 kDa)

PR-B is transcriptionally active and regulates genes involved in endometrial maintenance, pregnancy, and ovulation inhibition.
PR-A differs from PR-B by a 165 amino acid deletion at the N-terminus, exposing a 140 amino acid inhibitory domain that represses steroid hormone transcriptional activity.
In its inactive state, PgR forms a multiprotein complex with heat shock proteins and immunophilins. Upon progesterone binding, conformational changes enable receptor dimerization and binding to progesterone response elements (PRE), activating transcription.
Mutations in the PGR gene can lead to various reproductive abnormalities.
