Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

BRCA1 (breast and ovarian cancer susceptibility protein 1) is a nuclear phosphoprotein involved in maintaining genomic stability and acts as a tumor suppressor. It forms part of the BASC complex (BRCA1 associated genome surveillance complex) with other DNA damage sensors and signal transducers. BRCA1 interacts with RNA polymerase II and histone deacetylase complexes, playing a critical role in transcription, DNA double-strand break repair, and recombination.
Mutations in BRCA1 are responsible for ~40% of inherited breast cancers and >80% of inherited breast and ovarian cancers. Alternative splicing affects its localization and function, and several disease-associated variants are known. A related pseudogene exists on chromosome 17.
