Target Information
NUMBL plays a role in neurogenesis and the maintenance of neural progenitor cells (radial glial cells). It is required throughout embryonic neurogenesis for progenitor cell fate determination and postnatally in the subventricular zone (SVZ) for neuroblast survival and ependymal wall integrity.
Acts as a negative regulator of the NF-kappa-B signaling pathway by inhibiting MAP3K7IP2 interaction with polyubiquitin chains of TRAF6 and RIPK1, and promoting Lys-48-linked polyubiquitination and degradation of TRAF6 in cortical neurons. [UniProt]
