Target Information
CEP72 is involved in the recruitment of key centrosomal proteins to the centrosome. It provides centrosomal microtubule-nucleation activity on gamma-tubulin ring complexes (gamma-TuRCs) and plays critical roles in forming a focused bipolar spindle, essential for proper tension generation between sister chromatids. It is also required for localization of KIZ, AKAP9, and gamma-tubulin ring complexes.
