- Intact IgG appears on a non-reducing gel as ~150 kDa band and upon reduction generates ~25 kDa (light chain) and ~50 kDa (heavy chain) bands.
- This antibody reacts with Human Vinculin. Based on sequence similarity, reactivity to chimpanzee, rhesus monkey, swine, equine, mouse, rat, bovine, and chicken is expected.

Target Information
Vinculin (VCL) is a cytoskeletal protein associated with adherens-type junctions between cells and the extracellular matrix. It plays a critical role in anchoring F-actin to the membrane.
In adhesion plaque assembly:
- The β subunit of integrin binds to talin.
- Talin binds to vinculin.
- Vinculin interacts with α-actinin and possibly with itself.
Since α-actinin cross-links actin filaments, vinculin acts as a key element linking the extracellular matrix to the cytoplasmic microfilament system.
Mutations in the gene can cause cardiomyopathy dilated 1W or familial hypertrophic 15.
