Target Information
USP7 (also known as HAUSP) is a ubiquitin-specific protease that removes ubiquitin from substrate proteins. This activity stabilizes proteins such as p53 by preventing Mdm2-mediated degradation. USP7 plays a key role in tumor suppression and stress response by maintaining p53 stability. It may also provide an alternative pathway for protecting cells from oncogenic insults, independent of the ARF pathway.
