Target Information

Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Along with four core histone proteins, it binds to DNA to form the nucleosome structure.
Histones play a central role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability. Post-translational modifications of histones can alter chromatin structure or enable binding of specific transcription factors.
The N-terminal tail of histone H3 can undergo various modifications such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, influencing cellular processes.
