MASTL (microtubule associated serine/threonine kinase-like)은 MAST family 및 AGC Ser/Thr protein kinase group에 속합니다.
이 단백질은 유사분열 진행과 DNA 손상 후 세포 주기 재진입을 촉진합니다.
MASTL 결손은 염색체 응축, 분리 및 유사분열 과정의 결함을 유발하며, PP2A/B55 delta 억제를 통해 주로 매개됩니다.
MASTL 과발현은 여러 암에서 암 진행, 낮은 생존율 및 종양 재발과 관련이 있습니다.
이 유전자 돌연변이는 상염색체 우성 혈소판감소증(Thrombocytopenia-2)과 관련이 있습니다.
대체 스플라이싱된 전사체 변형도 보고되었습니다.
