Target Information
Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 6 (CCL6) is a small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family identified only in rodents. In mice, CCL6 is expressed in neutrophil and macrophage lineages and can be highly induced under conditions promoting myeloid cell differentiation. It is strongly expressed in bone marrow cultures stimulated with GM-CSF and shows low expression in certain myeloid cell lines (e.g., DA3, 32D cl3, P388D), which can also be induced by GM-CSF. In activated T cell lines, CCL6 expression is reduced. CCL6 can also be induced in mouse lung by interleukin 13. The mouse CCL6 gene is located on chromosome 11, and its receptor is believed to be chemokine receptor CCR1.
