Product Specific Information

  • Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed):
Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

Cyclin E belongs to the highly conserved cyclin family, characterized by periodic changes in protein abundance during the cell cycle. Cyclins act as regulators of CDK kinases, and each exhibits unique expression and degradation patterns contributing to mitotic event timing.
Cyclin E forms a complex with CDK2, regulating the G1/S transition of the cell cycle. It accumulates at the G1–S phase boundary and is degraded during S phase. Overexpression of Cyclin E has been observed in many tumors, leading to chromosomal instability and potential tumorigenesis.
This protein is associated with NPAT phosphorylation, influencing histone gene expression and promoting cell-cycle progression even in the absence of pRB. Multiple splice variants of Cyclin E have been described.
