This antibody has specificity for Human IL33/NF-HEV.

Target Information

IL-33 (Interleukin-33) is a 270 amino acid protein belonging to the IL-1 family with an IL-1-like C-terminal domain. It functions as both a proinflammatory cytokine and an intracellular nuclear factor with transcriptional regulatory properties.
IL-33 binds to IL1RL1/ST2, activating NF-kappaB and MAP kinases, leading to TH2 cytokine production (IL-4, IL-5, IL-13). It is expressed in high endothelial venules (tonsils, Peyer’s patches, mesenteric lymph nodes) and is nearly absent in placenta.
Prolonged IL-33 exposure in mice induces eosinophilia, splenomegaly, and pathological changes in mucosal organs. IL-33 can co-localize with heterochromatin and act as a transcriptional repressor, indicating dual functionality as cytokine and nuclear factor. Despite its predicted molecular weight, IL-33 often migrates at higher molecular weight in SDS-PAGE.
